Bertram Mills Circus advertisements, 1929-1949.

Eight albums of mounted gelatin silver photographs document the advertising of the Bertram Mills Circus. The photographs are of posters, streamers and broadsides used to publicize the circus. Some of the posters from 1929 are in Yiddish. Three basic images recur in most of the advertising: a woman fakir, clowns, and circus animals such as bears and elephants.

8 albums (ca. 206 photographic prints) : gelatin silver; 20.5 x 29 cm.
